How to get to Siam Park and Loro Park in Tenerife in 2020

How to get to South Tenerife Siam park or to North Tenerife Loro Park

We’ve noticed that some of our guests decide for a hassle-free vacation, which may also mean no driving around, but still want to get to see a lot of Tenerife. If you are one of them, you will find here details with regards to getting to Siam Park or Loro Parque from anywhere on the island.

From South Tenerife to Siam Park

You will find the free double-decker service, available for pick-up, every 30 minutes, starting with 09.30 am until 1.00 pm, and then from 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm, in:
Los Cristianos, the bus stops at C.C. Pasarela – Shopping Mall and Hotel Sol Arona Tenerife;
Las Américas, the bus stops at C.C. Presidente – Shopping Mall, Best Tenerife and Llanos de Troya;
Costa Adeje, the bus stops at C.C. El Duque, Fañabé Plaza and Ocean Park.

The bus leaves the park and takes you back to any of the departure stations every 30 minutes, from 3.30 pm to 6.30 pm. Last one leaves at 6.30 pm, make sure you catch it!

From Puerto de la Cruz to Loro Parque

Pick up the free express train from Plaza Reyes Católicos, every 20 minutes. First train leaves the plaza at 09.00 am, last at 4.00 pm.
When you’re done visiting, take the free train at the entrance from Loro Parque to Reyes Católicos, starting with 12.00 pm, every 20 minutes, until 6.30 pm.

Loro and Siam are part of the same business group, enjoying, besides joint marketing and shared ads, benefits from twin tours of both parks and also combined services to address tourists all over the island. One of these services is the bus transfer taking tourists from the South to Loro Parque and visitors from the North to Siam Park.
Therefore, we would say that the most efficient way is to opt for the bus service they provide, and get to the park that you’re interested in. The cost of the round trip is €13,50 per adult, € 8,00 for children 6 -11, and free of charge for children 0 to 5 years old. The route may take up to one hour and 30 minutes from the last pick-up point and the ride back is at 5.00 pm.

For example, if you’re staying in the South and want to get to Loro Parque from Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos or Playa de la Américas, you can make a reservation with the bus service and hop on it from any of the 24 bus stops they have along this part of the South, daily, between 7.50 am and 8.35 am.
Mondays to Saturdays, from 7.00 am to 7.30 am, you can pick up the bus from any of the 14 stops between Los Gigantes and Playa Paraiso, whichever is closer to your accommodation.

If you’re staying in Puerto de la Cruz and want to spend the day at Siam Park, go to the nearest bus stops out of the 11 they take along the city, daily, from 8.20 am to 9.05 pm. At 9.10 am, the bus gets to Santa Ursula and makes a stop at La Quinta Park, so no need for you to go to Puerto to pick up the ride to Siam Park. The route includes stops on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in Santa Cruz and Las Caletillas, as well. The return time from Siam to the North is 5.30 pm from May to October, and 5.00 pm from November to April.

As mentioned, the transfer coach is the most convenient choice to take you to any of the parks; it’s safe, direct and you have a reserved seat. We do see some downsides to it, such as the return time 5.00 pm, except for summer months from Siam to the North, while both parks close at 6.00 pm; you don’t really enjoy full flexibility schedule wise; and the bus stops may not be exactly walking distance from your accommodation. However, you enjoy a comfortable ride, you have a reserved seat on the bus, the drop off and return pick up is at the entrance in the parks, no walking or parking, the price is fair for a round trip (see below the public transportation alternative), fewer stops than with TITSA rides.

Please click on the photo below to get the detailed schedule and stops. If you decide for the bus transfer, please contact us, we will manage the reservation for you and send you all necessary details to make sure you don’t miss your ride.

Another option to travel the island and get to the parks is by public transportation:

TITSA operates the only public bus service in Tenerife, that is all the green buses you see around Tenerife, it has an impressive red of routes and user-friendly e-systems. We are always impressed by their service, punctuality, condition of the buses and amiability of the drivers. So, if you are considering public transportation to get to Siam Park from Puerto de la Cruz, for example, your ride would be line 343, from 6.00 am on weekdays, 6.30 am weekends and on holidays and would take about 1 hour and 45 minutes. It’s a direct line, with several stops, and some walking distance to and from the bus stop (10 to 20 minutes).

In our opinion, the only acceptable route by public transportation from the South to Loro Parque, the 343 direct line lasting about 2 hours in total (riding and walking), is from Estación Costa Adeje to Estación de guaguas Puerto de la Cruz, nearest stop to Loro Parque. From Los Cristianos or Playa de las Américas to Loro Parque, we believe it’s way too complicated, changing buses, walking in between stops, and time consuming (more than 3 hours), to even consider public transportation.

You can see more details regarding routes and timetables on their webpage.

The advantage with public transportation:

  • Earlier leave time and later return times, which gives you more flexibility to visit both the destinations and the parks.
  • Costs, one way tickets are between €10,00 to €15,00, but you can make some real savings with a Bono Bus, a pre-paid ticket that allows you to have discount fares on most buses, or download the app ten+movil and buy credit to pay for your trips.

Whatever means of transport you may choose, we really believe that the parks are worth the effort. Besides the great attractions awaiting for you at the final stop, you will enjoy the trip from one part of the island to the other, as the scenery changes constantly and the views are spectacular.
